Assuming fundamental programming skills in Java, Introduction to Data Structures and Algorithms with Java begins by introducing the concept of object-oriented programming in Java. The Advanced Windowing Toolkit (AWT) is also introduced at an early stage, and used to develop object oriented programs with graphical user interfaces (GUIs). After introducing the standard data structures and algorithms commonly studied in second year computing courses, the book concludes with a substantial case study that provides a hands-on experience with key concepts.
