Sinopsis
In many companies, operations research has left the backroom for the boardroom. It is there to support a manager's decisions whilst maintaining its role of providing reliable tools for stock and production control, transportation, vehicle routing and depot location. In this work, emphasis is placed on techniques that have been found useful in practice and the text concentrates on their implementation. New chapters include "soft" operations research techniques, such as visual interactive modelling, and new mathematical techniques, such as data envelopment analysis. The increased participation of operations research in decision-making is included. "Operations Research in Management" seeks to offer the non-specialist manager a grounding in the practice and techniqies of operations research and is designed for management students at undergraduate, diploma and postgraduate level as well as practising managers.
