Readers gain a solid foundation for understanding the fundamental concepts of programming languages through the author's presentation of design issues for various language constructs, the examination of the design choices for these constructs in some of the most common languages, and critical comparison of the design alternatives. In addition, Sebesta strives to prepare the reader for the study of compiler design by providing an in-depth discussion of programming language structures, presenting a formal method of describing syntax, and introducing approaches to lexical and syntactic analysis.
Biografía del autor
Robert Sebesta is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Professor Sebesta received a BS in applied mathematics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and MS and PhD degrees in computer science from the Pennsylvania State University. His professional interests are the design and evaluation of programming languages, compiler design, and software testing methods and tools. He is the author of Addison-Wesley's Concepts of Programming Languages and Programming the World Wide Web.
