For everyone studying to become an electrician, and for working electricians studying to pass the Journeyman or Master Electrician's Exam. Students may also include code inspectors, electrical designers, engineers, and participants in electrical union schools. Every electrician needs a comprehensive guide to the National Electrical Code-and every student needs expert help for passing the Master Electrician's Exam. For 18 years, this book has been the leading resource for both students and experienced professionals-and now it's been completely updated with 2002 code information. Designed as a complete course textbook for anyone who wants to understand the National Electrical Code's rules, it explains the NEC code in detail, with references to each relevant NEC article. All rules are summarized in tables and charts for easy reference, and dozens of worked examples are provided, applying the NEC to real-world designs and installations. The book presents proven strategies for passing the Master Electrician's Exam, including hundreds of insightful questions and problems that mirror those on the exam. Its in-depth coverage encompasses every key area of the Code, including rules and calculations for the design and rating of residential, industrial and commercial installations; a thorough overview of basic electrical theory and practice; DC/AC circuits; conductors; AC equipment; and much more.
