This is the third volume of the "Handbook of Human Performance", considering both effects related to stable characteristics and those which are a product of either endogenous changes in state or induced by task performance itself. Areas covered in this volume include the relationship between personality and performance, the effects of mood and endogenous changes in state on performance, and changes in performance efficiency as a function of time on task and as a result of prior performance of other tasks. All chapters provide detailed descriptions of the different areas of research and give critical evaluations of the methodology, theory and practical importance of the work. The volume includes chapters on intelligence, demographic factors, extraversion and fatigue, and although a wide range of topics is covered, all contributions are linked in a consistent manner to human performance.
