Economic, social and demographic changes are reflected in the changing composition of the income distribution. This report presents estimates of patterns of personal disposable income in the United Kingdom, and of changes over time, for the lower part of the income distribution. The information is derived mainly from the Family Expenditure Survey and does not cover people in residential institutions or homeless people in bed and breakfast accommodation or living rough.
