Environmental Protection Act 1990: code of practice on litter and refuse - Tapa blanda

The 1990 Act places a new duty on the Crown, local authorities, designated statutory undertakers and educational institutions, and certain other land owners to keep land to which the public has access clear of litter and refuse, as far as is practicable. Guidance on the discharge of this duty is provided by a new, innovative Code of Practice which puts emphasis on how clean land is, rather than how often it is cleaned. Standards of cleanliness are also defined.
