When Berkoff went to Rio to work with Ronnie Biggs on the screen version of Bigg's life in Brazil he wrote a diary of his experiences there. It comments, among other things, on the rich set and the poverty in the favellas and also describes the making of the film. This is Berkoff's second travel book, his first one being "America". It builds up a picture of Rio and a self-portrait of the actor and playwright. Berkoff's plays include "Metamorphosis", "West", "East" and "Hamlet"..
