Sinopsis

The past twenty years have seen a resurgence of interest on the part of psychologists in what used to be called 'the higher mental processes', with the difference that whilst the earlier workers were concerned with the power of reasoning, recent interest has centred upon the use of language. This book is divided into three sections which discuss in turn the various aspects of language and imagery, language and thinking and the philosophical perspective in Psychology which includes questions of meaning, explanations of linguistic ability, empiricism and rationalism.
