Sinopsis
Finite element analysis (FEA) is a widely used method for analyzing a structure or any complex system by means of subdividing the structure or system into smaller elements that can be easily evaluated. This book seeks to introduce FEA to manufacturing engineers and show how it can be used to enhance the precision and quality of their products. Engineers will find basic information on PC-based FEA, guidance on getting started, plus an introductory tutorial on problem solving. Also presented are detailed chapters on structural analysis, steady-state thermal analysis, transient heat transfer analysis and fluid flow analysis using SUPERFLOW. The book should be especially helpful to engineers in smaller firms, or smaller departments in larger firms, where computer resources are limited.
