This beautifully poetic text follows the twice-yearly migration of the snow geese across North America from the Arctic to the warm valleys of New Mexico.
Evocative landscapes illustrate the migration, conjuring up feelings of wonder in our world and sadness in its abuse. Deborah King has captured perfectly the essence of the beauty of our planet and our fears for it’s future. At the end, the book includes a page of factual information about the life of the snow goose.

Deborah King trained at Hornsey School of Art in London and now lives in Studland, Dorset, where she writes and paints, and lectures part-time at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art.
She is best known for her children’s picture books on animals and birds and she is also a tireless campaigner for environmental issues, raising money for many wildlife organisations.
The Haunting cry of the migrating Snow Geese has caught people’s imagination for thousands of years. Long before cities were built and even before Columbus sailed the atlantic, Snow Geese have been making their epic journeys back and forth across America. How do they find their way? And how do they know when to leave?
‘Spectacular drawings.’
