This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 8th EAI International Conference on Computer Science and Engineering in Health Services (COMPSE 2024), which took place September 10-12, 2024 in Laredo, Texas, USA. Acerca del autor
Dr. Jose Antonio Marmolejo-Saucedo is a Scientific-Chief Engineer in Romway Machinery Manufacturing Co. Ltd. in Zhejiang, China and professor at Nuevo Leon State University (UANL). He is currently in charge of implementing a digital twin in a smart factory designed in a modular way for large-scale optimization. His research is on operations research, large-scale optimization techniques, computational techniques, analytical methods for planning, operations, and control of electric energy and logistic systems. He is particularly interested in topics related to artificial intelligence, digital twins, the Internet of things and Industry 4.0. Currently, Prof. Marmolejo leads the Digital Twin Research Lab Mexico https://www.dtlab-research.net/
This lab brings together specialists from China, United States, United Kingdom, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Malaysia, Thailand and Mexico. He received his Ph. D in Operations Research (Hons) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. At present, he has the first-highest country-wide distinction granted by the Mexican National System of Research Scientists for scientific merit (SNI Fellow, Level 3). He is a member of the Network for Decision Support and Intelligent Optimization of Complex and Large-Scale Systems and Mexican Society for Operations Research. He has co-authored of more than 200 research articles in science citation index journals, conference proceedings, presentations, books, and book chapters.
Prof. Dr. Roman Rodriguez-Aguilar earned his Ph.D. from the School of Economics at the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico. He also holds a master’s degree in Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), another master’s degree in Administration and Public Policy from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, a postgraduate degree in Applied Statistics from the Research Institute in Applied Mathematics and Systems at UNAM, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from UNAM. Currently, he is a professor at the School of Economic and Business Sciences at Universidad Panamericana in Mexico. His research interests include large-scale mathematical optimization, statistical learning, computational intelligence, health and energy economics, digital transformation in organizations, and causal artificial intelligence. He has taught at several prestigious public and private universities in Mexico and has supervised numerous master’s and Ph.D. students. Additionally, he has delivered many lectures, courses, and workshops internationally. Prof. Rodriguez has co-authored numerous research articles published in journals indexed by the Science Citation Index, as well as chapters and books with recognized publishers. He has also coordinated various research projects and is a Level II member of the National System of Researchers in Mexico.
Dr. Utku Kose received the B.S. degree in 2008 from computer education of Gazi University, Turkey as a faculty valedictorian. He received M.S. degree in 2010 from Afyon Kocatepe University, Turkey in the field of computer and D.S. / Ph. D. degree in 2017 from Selcuk University, Turkey in the field of computer engineering. Between 2009 and 2011, he has worked as a Research Assistant in Afyon Kocatepe University. Following, he has also worked as a Lecturer and Vocational School - Vice Director in Afyon Kocatepe University between 2011 and 2012, as a Lecturer and Research Center Director in Usak University between 2012 and 2017, Assistant Professor in Suleyman Demirel University between 2017 and 2019, and as an Associate Professor in Suleyman Demirel University between 2019 and 2024. Currently, he is a Full Professor in Suleyman Demirel University, Turkey. Kose also gave lectures at other higher education institutions such as Gazi University and Istanbul Arel University. He also worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of North Dakota, USA (between 2023 and 2024) and holds the Honorary Professor of Artificial Intelligence title at ITM (SLS) Baroda University, India. He has more than 350 publications including articles, authored and edited books, proceedings, and reports. He is also in editorial boards of many scientific journals and serves as one of the editors of the Biomedical and Robotics Healthcare (CRC Press) and Computational Modeling Applications for Existential Risks (Elsevier) book series. His research interests include artificial intelligence, machine ethics, artificial intelligence safety, biomedical applications, optimization, the chaos theory, distance education, e-learning, computer education, and computer science.
Igor Litvinchev is a Research Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Nuevo Leon State University (UANL), Mexico. He received his M.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Fizteh), Ph.D. in Systems Theory and Operations Research and Dr. Sci. (Habilitation) in Systems Modeling and Optimization from Computing Center, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. His research is focused on large-scale systems modeling, optimization, and control with interdisciplinary applications. He was supported by 30+ grants from NATO Scientific Affairs Division and European Community; ISF (USA) and RFBR (Russia); CNPq and FAPESP (Brasil); BRFBR (Belarus); CONACYT, PROMEP and PAICYT (Mexico). Professor Litvinchev is a member of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and Mexican Academy of Sciences. He is a co-founder of Mexican Society of Operations Research and Mexican Logistics and Supply Chain Association.
Miguel Gastón Cedillo Campos is an Associate Professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) and a Binational Fellow with the Office of Global Initiatives at Texas A&M International University. From 2013 to 2024, he served as the Technical Director of the SECIHTI National Laboratory for Transportation and Logistics Systems, which he proposed and co-founded on April 10, 2015, with financial support from the Mexican Institute of Transportation and the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT).Dr. Cedillo-Campos has also been a Visiting Professor and Researcher in Transportation and Logistics at several institutions, including the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), the MIT-Zaragoza Logistics Center, and the National University of Colombia. In 2008, he established the first supply chain research center in Mexico, the Supply Chain Research and Development Center (CiDeCS), at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Guadalajara Campus. In 2012, he received the National Logistics Award and the Technological Innovation Award from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León. Additionally, in 2019, he was honored with the InterTraffic Latin America Award for leading the design and operation of the first Urban Cargo Distribution Living Lab in Latin America.With over 20 years of experience developing technological solutions for transportation, logistics, and supply chain engineering, Dr. Cedillo-Campos is a frequent speaker at various companies and academic institutions. He strongly advocates for collective intelligence in transportation science, having initiated, co-founded, and served as the first president of the Mexican Association of Logistics and Supply Chain. Dr. Cedillo-Campos holds a degree in civil engineering and two master's degrees―one in Transportation Engineering and one in Business Logistics. He earned his PhD in Transportation (Logistics Systems) with honors from the University of Paris, France, in 2004. In 2010, he developed a dynamic analysis approach to study the propagation of the "Cross-Border Effect" in freight flows and its impact on the logistics value of transportation infrastructure. Currently, he is at the forefront of research on freight fluidity. He is recognized as an authority in the field and has taught at prestigious institutions in Mexico, Spain, France, Colombia, Panama, and Chile. As the Scientific Chair of the International Congress on Logistics and Supply Chain (CiLOG), he leads a top-tier event that shapes the future of transportation and logistics in Latin America.Professor Cedillo-Campos is frequently consulted by government agencies and major Latin American companies on civil engineering, manufacturing, retail, transportation, and logistics. He is also an active entrepreneur, having founded and co-founded three technology-based organizations. He has authored or co-authored several scientific publications in top-tier journals, including Transport Policy, Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review, Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice, Computers and Industrial Engineering, and Applied Energy. Additionally, he serves as an Area Editor (Transport) for the journal “Computers & Industrial Engineering.” Dr. Cedillo-Campos is a full member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society.

Derecho al desistimiento
Si es un consumidor, puede rescindir el contrato de acuerdo con lo siguiente. Por consumidor se entiende cualquier persona física que actúe con fines ajenos a su actividad comercial, empresarial, oficio o profesión.
Información sobre el derecho de desistimiento
Derecho legal de desistimiento
Tiene derecho a rescindir este contrato en un plazo de 14 días sin dar ningún motivo.
El periodo de desistimiento vencerá a los 14 días desde que usted, o un tercero que no sea el transportista e indicado por usted, adquiera la posesión física del último bien o del último lote o pieza.
Para ejercer el derecho de desistimiento, complete de forma electrónica y envíe una declaración clara en nuestro sitio web, desde "Mis compras" en "Mi cuenta". Le enviaremos sin demora un acuse de recibo de dicho desistimiento a través de un soporte duradero (por ejemplo, por correo electrónico).
Para cumplir con el plazo de desistimiento, basta con que envíe su comunicación relativa al ejercicio del derecho de desistimiento antes de que venza el periodo de desistimiento.
Efectos del desistimiento
Si rescinde este contrato, le reembolsaremos todos los pagos que hayamos recibido de usted, incluidos los gastos de envío (excepto los gastos adicionales que surjan si elige un tipo de envío que no sea el tipo de envío estándar más económico que ofrecemos).
Podemos hacer una deducción del reembolso por la pérdida de valor de cualquier bien suministrado, si la pérdida es el resultado de una manipulación innecesaria por su parte.
Efectuaremos el reembolso sin demoras indebidas y, a más tardar, 14 días después de que se nos informe de su decisión de rescindir este contrato.
Efectuaremos el reembolso utilizando el mismo medio de pago que utilizó para la transacción inicial, a menos que haya acordado expresamente lo contrario; en cualquier caso, no incurrirá en ningún cargo como resultado de dicho reembolso.
Podremos retener el reembolso hasta que hayamos recibido los bienes o hasta que nos haya presentado una prueba de que los ha devuelto, lo que ocurra primero.
Deberá devolver los bienes o entregarlos a moluna, Greven, Germany, sin demoras indebidas y, en cualquier caso, en un plazo máximo de 14 días a partir del día en que nos comunique su desistimiento del presente contrato. El plazo se cumple si devuelve la mercancía antes de que venza el periodo de 14 días. Tendrá que asumir los gastos directos de devolución de los bienes. Usted solo es responsable de la disminución del valor de los bienes como resultado de una manipulación distinta a la necesaria para establecer la naturaleza, las características y el funcionamiento de los bienes.
Excepciones al derecho de desistimiento
El derecho de desistimiento no se aplica a lo siguiente:
- La entrega de periódicos, diarios o revistas, con la excepción de los contratos de suscripción; y
- El suministro de contenido digital que no se proporcione en un soporte tangible (por ejemplo, en un CD o DVD) si, al hacer el pedido, aceptó que podíamos empezar a entregarlo y que no podría desistir una vez iniciada la entrega.
