In her debut poetry collection, Michelle Koubek pens a chronological narrative of a woman’s life. She gathers up dreams attained and lost, friendships forged only to drift apart, tragedies, disappointments, and small victories that ultimately are not small at all. Writing in age-appropriate voices, this poetic telling spans 75 years, from birth and first steps to teen angst and bewilderment through to a reflective adulthood that is, if not quite as wise as wished, not regretful in the least. Despite all the uncertainty and chaos that living has to offer, Ms. Koubek paints a life that is beautiful in its fullness, and she is certain of one thing; there is a thread of hope that runs from beginning to end.
