What happens when children begin at the end and work their way backward?
Get ready to count down, look around, think carefully, and discover the world in a completely new way with 3, 2, 1: Let’s Have Some Fun! by Carlyle Fleming, Ed.D.
In this colorful and interactive children’s picture book, young readers are introduced to the exciting concept of reverse sequencing. Instead of always moving from first to last, children are encouraged to begin with the result, think backward, and explore what may have happened before.
Guided by a cheerful young character, children will be invited to:
• Count backward and explore reverse order
• Look in front, behind, above, below, right, and left
• Compare opposites such as big and small, day and night, old and new

• Identify shapes, colors, textures, and objects in their surroundings
• Describe what they see and say their answers aloud
• Recall steps, events, and familiar routines from end to beginning
Every page encourages participation, conversation, movement, and independent thinking. Rather than simply giving children the answers, the book asks playful questions that help them observe, predict, remember, and express their ideas confidently.
The included reverse-learning activity pages provide additional opportunities for children, parents, caregivers, and educators to practice counting backward, identifying opposites, describing daily routines in reverse, and developing stronger sequencing skills.
This engaging early-learning book can help support:
• Cognitive development

• Verbal communication and vocabulary
• Listening and observation skills
• Memory and recall
• Directional and spatial awareness
• Understanding of opposites
• Sequencing and reverse sequencing
• Parent-child and classroom interaction
Perfect for preschoolers, kindergarten students, early elementary learners, families, homeschool activities, classrooms, speech-development practice, and interactive read-aloud time.
Whether children are looking toward the sky, listening to neighborhood sounds, searching the ground for hidden objects, or deciding what comes before and after, every activity turns an ordinary moment into an exciting learning adventure.
3, 2, 1: Let’s Have Some Fun! shows young learners that education does not always have to move in one direction.
Sometimes the best way to understand what comes next is to start at the end and work backward!
