Before Title IX, one in twenty-seven girls played sport in the United States.
Today it's closer to one in two and a half.
The participation caught up. The coaching never did.
2 Inches In Front Of You is the coaching book nobody built — a methodology designed specifically for the female athlete, from the teenage girl navigating her first hormonal renovation to the woman in her fifties who decided, finally, to choose herself.
Written by World #1 Senior Female Professional Pickleball Player and APP National Coach Lee Whitwell, this book starts where most coaching books never go: with the woman who walked through the gate. What she's carrying. What the research actually says about her body. And why everything she was ever told about why she wasn't performing well enough was wrong.
The female body is not a smaller, slower version of the male one. It is a completely different operating system. And it has spent decades being coached by frameworks built for a body it doesn't have.
Inside: the Whitwell Way coaching methodology, the Ego Pyramid, Permission Intelligence, Ask-Connect-Transfer, the Chimp on Court, and the radical idea that the half-committed shot is not a technical problem — it's a permission problem.
This book will change how coaches see the women in front of them. It will change how women see themselves.
The faster, stronger, braver version of you was always there. Two inches in front of you.
