Facsimile of the 1914 Sanborn fire-insurance atlas of Schenectady, New York, reproduced in full color from the Library of Congress copy. It covers the whole city of 100,000 people, from the stores, theatres and hotels of State Street and the congested district along the Erie Canal and the Mohawk River, through the American Locomotive and General Electric works, to Union College and the residential streets of Bellevue, Woodlawn, Carman, Rexford Flats and South Schenectady.
The one hundred fourteen numbered sheets work block by block from the stores, banks, hotels and theatres along State Street, Union Street, Liberty Street, Jay Street, Wall Street, Centre Street and Crescent Park - the City Hall and Annex, the County Court House and Jail, the Post Office, the Public Library and its branches, the Armory, the Masonic Temple, the Van Curler Opera House, Proctor's, the Orpheum, Mohawk, Majestic, Kenilworth and American theatres, the Parker, Lorraine, McDonald, Schenectady Savings Bank and Union National Bank buildings, the Barney and Wallace department stores, the Edison, Mohawk, Crown, Vendome, Arlington, Foster and Brunswick hotels, the Y. M. C. A. and Y. W. C. A. - through the Erie Canal docks, the New York Central & Hudson River freight and passenger depots, the Delaware & Hudson freight depots, the Schenectady Railway car barns and repair shops, the American Locomotive Company's works, the General Electric Company, the Mica Insulator works, the S. R. gas-engine works, the Westinghouse farm-implement works, the Mohawk Gas Company, the Schenectady Illuminating sub-station, the Schenectady Varnish, Cast Stone and Linonite companies, the National Base Ball, broom, underwear and cotton-waste factories, the Metropolitan Dye Works, the Congress and Mohawk Valley breweries, the Schenectady Milling Company and the Fuller flour mill, the Knapp & Hotchkiss, Horstman and Madden lumber yards, the Schenectady Beef Company, the Sulzberger cold storage, the Winne & McKain grain storage, the New York State storehouses, the National Biscuit Company, the coal yards and ice houses and the Water Works pumping station - to the Ellis and Mercy hospitals, the County Alms House, the Children's Home and the Old Ladies' Home, Union College, the Schenectady High School, the Nott Terrace, Van Antwerp, Washington Irving and other public schools, St. John's, St. Joseph's, St. Columba's, St. Anthony's Italian, St. Adalbert's and St. Mary's Polish Catholic churches, St. George's Episcopal Church, the Reformed Dutch, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran and German churches, the synagogues, the Mohawk Golf Club, Dolle's Park and the Yates boat house, and the residential streets of the city, Bellevue, Woodlawn, Carman, Rexford Flats and South Schenectady.
In 1914 the Sanborn Map Company of New York surveyed Schenectady for the fire-insurance trade, drawing the city at fifty feet to the inch. Every building is shown to scale and color-coded for construction (yellow for frame, pink for brick, blue for stone), with heights, uses, windows, party walls, hydrants, water mains and fire stations all marked. The index lists every street and every named business, church, school, hotel, mill and works with the sheet it appears on, and the key map places the colored sheet grid over the whole city.
This Exile Books edition is an unabridged facsimile republication of the atlas: the title sheet, the index, the map of the congested district, the key map and all one hundred fourteen numbered map sheets together with the eight skeleton sheets, printed at 8.5 x 11 inches on premium color paper. Tiene derecho a rescindir este contrato en un plazo de 14 días sin dar ningún motivo.
El periodo de desistimiento vencerá a los 14 días desde que usted, o un tercero que no sea el transportista e indicado por usted, adquiera la posesión física del último bien o del último lote o pieza.
Para ejercer el derecho de desistimiento, complete de forma electrónica y envíe una declaración clara en nuestro sitio web, desde "Mis compras" en "Mi cuenta". Le enviaremos sin demora un acuse de recibo de dicho desistimiento a través de un soporte duradero (por ejemplo, por correo electrónico).
Para cumplir con el plazo de desistimiento, basta con que envíe su comunicación relativa al ejercicio del derecho de desistimiento antes de que venza el periodo de desistimiento.
Efectos del desistimiento
Si rescinde este contrato, le reembolsaremos todos los pagos que hayamos recibido de usted, incluidos los gastos de envío (excepto los gastos adicionales que surjan si elige un tipo de envío que no sea el tipo de envío estándar más económico que ofrecemos).
Podemos hacer una deducción del reembolso por la pérdida de valor de cualquier bien suministrado, si la pérdida es el resultado de una manipulación innecesaria por su parte.
Efectuaremos el reembolso sin demoras indebidas y, a más tardar, 14 días después de que se nos informe de su decisión de rescindir este contrato.
Efectuaremos el reembolso utilizando el mismo medio de pago que utilizó para la transacción inicial, a menos que haya acordado expresamente lo contrario; en cualquier caso, no incurrirá en ningún cargo como resultado de dicho reembolso.
Podremos retener el reembolso hasta que hayamos recibido los bienes o hasta que nos haya presentado una prueba de que los ha devuelto, lo que ocurra primero.
Deberá devolver los bienes o entregarlos a AHA-BUCH GmbH, Einbeck, Germany, sin demoras indebidas y, en cualquier caso, en un plazo máximo de 14 días a partir del día en que nos comunique su desistimiento del presente contrato. El plazo se cumple si devuelve la mercancía antes de que venza el periodo de 14 días. Tendrá que asumir los gastos directos de devolución de los bienes. Usted solo es responsable de la disminución del valor de los bienes como resultado de una manipulación distinta a la necesaria para establecer la naturaleza, las características y el funcionamiento de los bienes.
Excepciones al derecho de desistimiento
El derecho de desistimiento no se aplica a lo siguiente:
- La entrega de periódicos, diarios o revistas, con la excepción de los contratos de suscripción; y
- El suministro de contenido digital que no se proporcione en un soporte tangible (por ejemplo, en un CD o DVD) si, al hacer el pedido, aceptó que podíamos empezar a entregarlo y que no podría desistir una vez iniciada la entrega.
