Magic combined science and religion in its claim - and the magician was originally considered a "world wise man" who sought to explore the secrets of nature and used all available knowledge to do so, as an astronomer and astrologer, mathematician and physicist, chemist and gold maker, sign interpreter and Fortune teller. Magicians were the priests of science, respected and revered until modern times, and where magic lacked knowledge, it made do with spells. Alchemy prepared chemistry, Magia naturalis is where the science of physics has its origins, astronomy and mathematics are known to magicians and astrologers in their history - another Isaac Newton also experimented as an alchemist. With the persecution of magicians by the Inquisition and then with the 18th century, the history of old magic comes to an end. We know nothing about Johann Wallbergen's life. His collection uses the old form of magic spells, presenting the "natural secret nuts" without carrying with it the once glamours claim of being global science, philosophy, and nature. But his Collection of Natural Magic Arts and its advice provide a deep insight into everyday consciousness at the time, and Johann Wallbergen had, last but not least, compiled a small amount of medication knowledge and was so successful that his book had a third edition in 1769. This is a second edition - with one of the first hand-made dust jackets. Text in German. N° de ref. del artículo RAREE1754FMPX
