Latvian photographer Ralf Vulis has created an entire book using a single chair and one hundred different girls from his hometown of Riga who agreed to pose nude for him. They range from tender young beauties to women who seem a bit more mature, but are nonetheless, equally stunning to behold. It is this varying spectrum that might be the real strength of the book. When positioned in the same manner, women of all body types and ages glisten in a way that is universally beautiful. This is a work of amazing synergy and brazen style. Each subject is given an entire page in the book and shot in the same portrait-oriented frame that stretches from the bottom of the chair to the top of her head. There are no props and each girl is completely naked with her legs spread wide open upon the seat. It is a body of work that is as festive and refreshing as it is unpretentious. Our only question is, where can we get this chair? Ein Stuhl, 100 verschiedene natürliche Frauen, die einen intimen Einblick gewähren. Der "Zauber" liegt in der Unterschiedlichkeit, die durch das immer gleiche Set-up besonders gut herauskommt. In Farbe wäre das Buch noch besser, ein größeres Format wäre auch schön, aus meiner Sicht aber trotzdem die volle Punktzahl. Einhundert mal unverkrampfte Weiblichkeit Perfekt! Einhundert attraktive, natürliche Frauen die auf einem Stuhl (vom Möbeldiscounter, kein Klassiker) sitzend, ihre sonst verborgene Weiblichkeit öffnen. Der Photograph hat gänzlich auf künstliche und Tausend mal gesehene -somit langweilige- Posen verzichtet. Die Damen danken es ihm mit einer sehr unverkrampften und natürlichen Haltung. Dieser Band ist weder Pornographie noch Kunst, sondern viel mehr die Momentaufnahme von Hundert Frauen die scheinbar mit sich und ihren nicht immer "makellosen" Körpern im reinen zu sein scheinen. Ein Fotoband der lust auf hundert weitere Bilder macht.
