The Text Block is clean, white, tight, straight and square, with deckled fore-edges and no markings of any kind. The Binding is full custard colored cloth (color uniform throughout) with bright brown title and design to front board, bright brown title, etc., to spine, all corners square, and prior owner's book plate on front endpaper. The Dust Jacket is bright and mostly intact with chips at the spine and folds, also with half a dozen small tears discreetly closed from behind with archival (pH neutral) materials, and with the original price ($3.50) intact on the front flap. The autobiography of Robert Service, the British-Canadian poet often called the "Bard of the Yukon", he is famous for his ballads, such as The Shooting of Dan McGrew and The Cremation of Sam McGee.
