Marlborough: His Life & Times (Vols I and II), Winston S. Churchill, Harrap, 1st Editions A biography of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, written by Churchill who was a lineal descendant of the Duke. Volume I - First Edition Reprint 1933 In fair condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the gold lettering on the spine and gold emblem on the front board are bright. There is sunning to the spine and to the top edge and side edges of the back board. There is damage to the join between the first two free pages. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. There is a loose sheet of paper contained within the book with a neat owners name and black pen marks. The top edge retains its original gold tint. Volume II - First Edition, First Impression 1934 In very good condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the gold lettering on the spine and the gold emblem on the front board are bright. There is a small mark to the front edge of the spine. There is sunning to the spine and the top and side edges of the back cover and the top edge of the front board. The end papers and pages are free from marks and tears. There is a neat owners name and date to the first end paper. The top edge retains its original gold tint.
