He concisely tells the story of twentieth-century art, following the subsequent course of the arts in three stages: before 1914, during the war 1914 - 1918 and in the post-war years until about 1930 set in relation to the social, economic and political background. A First Edition, First Impression in very good condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from tears or marks. The top edge retains its original green tint. There is a neat ownership name to the front end paper. The clipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in good condition with a small tear to the bottom edge of the front cover, shelf wear and loss to the bottom edge of the spine, marks to the back cover, and small tears to the top edge of the back cover.
