FIRST EDITION, 1936. Large, thick octavo; buttercup yellow cloth boards with dark grey titles to spine- a little marginal rubbing and shaping, consistent with age, but predominantly neat and square. Page block top edge has a few grey marks and dust-staining; fore-edge and bottom edge relatively bright and clean.Prelims + 284pp,predominantly tight, bright and clean. Some minor indeed foxing evident on eps, a few places where webbing is beginning just to show between bindings - largely in very nice condition, without markings or inscriptions of any kind. Terrific Lionel Edwards illustrations - his graphic work reproduces so much better than images of his oil paintings, and has a relaxed but knowledgable feel to it-a perfect accompaniment to the text. The dustwrapper is Unclipped (a 6/- net sticker on spine), has general light foxing and dust-staining front and back, several minor nicks and tears and small losses-the largest of these at spine top. This said, the biggest part of the very attractive design is intact, including the L.Edwards artwork and the typography at front, blurb to rear panel. 'Good Minus' would be a fair indication, and copies with a d/w of any kind are Scarce. PLEASE SEE FIVE ACCOMPANYING IMAGES. Now protected and enhanced with removable, transparent sleeve.
