Hilton, James. THE MEADOWS OF THE MOON. London: Thornton Butterworth, (1925). First Edition. Near Fine copy (tiny bit of sunning to spine tip) in a Very good later issue dust jacket (many chips and creases but without repair and quite clean). By the author of Lost Horizon, Random Harvest, and Goodbye Mr. Chips. One of Hilton's better early novels (according to The James Hilton Companion by John Hammond) featuring a love triangle involving a woman and two brothers (one is a passive scientist but a genius and dreamer, the other a strong industrialist but with a chilling psychological need for intimacy). Fran's battle over which man is right for her is set against the Meadows of the Moon, the so-named farmland property upon which all three main characters grew up together. An emotional drama with sophisticated and mature characters, written when the author was only 25 years old. Exceedingly uncommon in the original English dust jacket with its very attractive cover art. N° de ref. del artículo 003316
