Jeanne de Luz de Saint Rémy, de Valois, comtesse de La Motte s est rendue célèbre par l Affaire du collier de Marie-Antoinette et à l ascendant qu elle possédait sur le Cardinal de Rohan. Dans ses Mémoires, édités à Londres où elle s était réfugiée, elle accuse formellement Marie-Antoinette de complicité dans cette affaire. Ce pamphlet, dont l édition entière fut rachetée à prix d or par la Cour de France, fut néanmoins réimprimé plusieurs fois sous un autre titre "Vie de la Comtesse de La Motte".
