All eight volumes are included. There is a small previous owner's name on the front endpaper of each volume. No other marks. John B. McPherson Lieutenant General, USAF (Ret.) President of The Air Force Historical Foundation, founded in 1953 writes " I am pleased to give our official sponsorship to the reprint of Impact magazine, plus newly written introductory essays by major figures from World War II, in eight hardbound books, of which this is the first. During my own World War II service in the Air Force, both stateside and overseas, I was an avid reader of Impact and eagerly sought each issue because of its wide-ranging coverage of air action against Germany and Japan. Whether fighting in Europe, the Pacific, China-Burma or elsewhere, airmen took the time to read, study, and learn what their comrades were doing around the globe. The fact that Impact was classified "Confidential" added not only to its timeliness, authenticity and candor but also provided insights into understanding America's air capabilities that were not available from any other source. It went to only about 10,000 flyers, operations officers and intelligence personnel. Republication of Impact, now declassified, in reference book format, together with thoughtful commentary from fourteen World War II leaders with the perspective of 35 years, will serve, important scholarly and historical purposes. It will remind the general reading public as well as military historians of the vital role air power played in winning World War II and the lessons to be learned from those great events in the light of the possibility of further military conflicts. We trust that the reader will find that Impact's historical record of what air power did for us in World War II will contribute to an understanding of the mission of the United States Air Force today. Also, Impact is vastly interesting and nostalgic. It is hard to put it down." All eight books weigh 20 pounds and shipping outside of the United States not available.
