John Hayward (1781-1869) was an author of several Gazetteers and statiscal works as well as a few works relating to religion. A nice copy of this Vermont gazetteer by the author of "The New England Gazetteer." Contains a folding frontis map, one full page illustration, and a number of tables. There is a slight split to top edge of the joint in the black leather spine,and the leading margin of the map is wrinkled. Bound in the original black cloth covers with a black leather and gilt spine lettering. the rear cover has old staining. Ref: Sabin 31072 ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 216 pages.
