"This edition consists of 150 copies for sale in England by James Tregaskis and Son, and 180 copies sold in the United States by Edgar H. Wells & Co. Inc." 6 in. x 9 3/8 in., 14 pp. + 94 pp. facsimile of August 23, 1768 book sale catalogue, published by J. Todd and H. Sotheran, listing over 2500 items with prices. Black cloth spine and sides, with title gilt on spine, and gray paper-covered boards. Cloth shows very light rubbing, some age-related tanning to cover edges, endpapers. Former owner's book label on front paste-down, the former owner has also pasted a small, early engraved heraldic bookplate above his own label, as he was a collector of Eighteenth Century English literature, this might be associated with Sterne, or his period. Partial, original title: "A Catalogue of a Curious and Valuable Collection of Books, among which are included the Entire Library of the late Reverend and Learned Laurence Sterne, A.M. Prebendary of York, &c. &c. Author of the Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gent. and several other Works of Wit and Humour. Most of the Books are in good Condition and handsome Bindings. [-] Which will begin to be sold exceeding cheap (the Prices printed in the Catalogue) on Tuesday, August 23 , 1768, and continue till all are sold, by J. Todd and H.
