Eddy organized and led his own expedition down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, becoming one of the first to successfully navigate the river through the Grand Canyon. The expedition included Cataract, a bear cub and Rags, an airedale dog in addition to the 13 men. The reason for the expedition was pure adventure.
