The Comedy of Catherine the Great by Francis Gribble Hardback, 1912, first edition, illustrated, published by Eveleigh Nash, London, xix + 368 pages + 16-page publisher catalogue at rear. Octavo/8vo, measures around 9" by 6" by 2 1/8". Ex-library book with typical markings, stamps, etc. No dust jacket. Red cloth binding, gilt lettering and detail to front board and spine. Some marking and scuffing to binding, creasing to spine, slightly bumped corners. Signs of wear, rubbing at edges and on hinges. Book has slight forward tilt. Some strain to binding, cracking to inner hinges, some slackness but holding quite well. Upper page edges gilt, lower and fore-edges deckled. Page edges browned, scuffed and a bit marked. Some marking to endpapers, markings, previous owner bookplate to front pastedown and library bookplate to rear pastedown. Previous owner name to half-title page, which is loose towards bottom.
