Green printed wrappers, small 4to, 43 pp, 37 plates. 50 lots. Catalogue of a selection from the collection of C. Robert Rudolf, who amassed a collection of about 1,000 Old Master Drawings. From the introduction: From the introduction: "The Collection of Old Master Drawings, from which we were allowed to make a choice of 50 sheets, was started by Mr. C. R. Rudolf and his brother Mr. A. P. Rudolf in about 1925. Their first drawing, by Adriaen van Ostade of Three Peasants, was sold to them by the late D. C. Baskett of Colnaghi. From then onwards they searched the portfolios of the dealers and gradually acquired drawings by Fra Bartolommeo, Schiavone, Boucher, Avercamp and Inigo Jones. Many of the drawings appeared in famous pre-war sales; one of the Lorenzo Costa drawings was in the Bateson Sale, the Barocci and the Esaias van de Velde in the Oppenheimer Sale, the Eeckhout in the Heseltine Sale, and the Lambert Doomer, once owned by Vincent van Gogh, was in the Sale of Dr. Curt Otto. Mr. Rudolf also exchanged drawings with some of the other celebrated collectors like Mr. Frits. Lugt, from whom he acquired the Rembrandt of The Old Man, led by a youth and a small boy, and Sir Robert Witt, the previous owner of the Bernini caricature of Cardinal Richelieu." The highlighted lots for this sale were: The Baptist, St. John the Evangelist and the Risen Christ, by Fra Bartolommeo; A Triumphal Car, by Lorenzo Costa; Psyche received into Olympus, by Andrea Schiavone; An elegant couple skating, by Hendrik Avercamp; A young man dreaming, by Gerbrand Van Den Eeckhout; An Old Man led by a young man and a boy, by Rembrandt Van Rijn; A woman dressed in a classical style, by Francois Boucher. Scribbled prices and buyers' names, some lot numbers written on last page, otherwise Near Very Good. N° de ref. del artículo ABE-58441
