Moton; Author's preface; preface by Theodore Roosevelt; contents; list of illustrations. xx, 330 pp., illustrated with reproductions of historical black & white photographs. Most pages are unopened. Dark green, textured cloth, gilt titling on the spine, deckled edge paper fore-edges, top-edge gilt. The spine and front cover show light wear, abrasions to the cloth, tan spotting to the fore-edges. With the bookplate of Cleveland, Ohio based book collector, William G. Mather (1857-1951), on the front paste-down endpaper; Mather has added this ink inscription on the facing flyleaf: Wm. G. Mather, 1917. From Mr. Moton. This copy was sent to W. G. Mather by Robert Russa Moton (1867-1940), who was then (1917)principal of Tuskegee Institute, he became principal in 1915 after Booker T. Washington's death, and the Scott & Stowe biography was published in 1916. This copy, though, is not signed by R. R. Moton. N° de ref. del artículo M-247
