Quarto cream cloth, lettered and illustrated in silver. Well illustrated by Humphrey. The title page and all of the color illustrations are dated 1898. The black & white illustrations are actually printed in a light green. At least half of the pages are filled in. Some extensive full-page writings to a few pages. Several small articles, cards, and notes laid in loose or glued in. Most of the entries are dated 1908. The cloth is lightly soiled, finger-marked. Very tight. Includes the very scarce original two-part box. A large, printed label is mounted to the top. It is in only fair condition. The lower side of the top is present but detached. Missing about 5" of another side of the top. The bottom is complete, but all the corners are split. Various soiling and staining to the upper and lower box panels. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall. Hardcover. Condición: Fine. Maud Humphrey Ilustrador. Light bluish/green bds with blind stamped titles and illustration to the FC, cloth spine. Extremely well preserved example. Many hand-written entries concerning a tot named Loring Townsend Clark from a rural New Hampshire town, born in 1915. Also a lock of hair taped onto the proper place/page. A very popular book with the full color frontispiece and 30 B&W illustrations, the contents are absolutely fine.
