viii (inc Title page) + 158 pages + ii + 30 single sided Illustrations. Condition Original Binding fair, rebound (not professional ), covers very aged/worn/sunned edges. Most of the original spine laid on. Contents mostly very good, clean & tight, cello tape inside to spine, inscription to endpage from his friend, signed John Thew (possibly John Thew the publisher) & a later owner's signature below, 2 page list of subscribers. Rear endpage just hanging on. Contains all 30 plates as listed, most with original tissue guards, many plates with light edge/corner water staining rarely affecting the image (looks like the plates were slightly damp before being bound, as not affecting the text pages before or after). John Thew was a bookseller, printer and, from 1841, publisher of the Lynn Advertiser, was at No. 2 from about 1837, then acquired No. 1 about 1841, he died in 1856 and was succeeded by his only son, John Dyker Thew, who expanded by acquiring Nos. 3 and 4, High Street in about 1873/4. and occupied the whole corner block from No. 1 to No. 4 until they moved to new printing works in Purfleet Street in 1923.
