126 pages. True first edition with (I) on final page of the text. From the Preface: "Most of the Lyrics now presented to the golfing fraternity and sorority in book form were written more than twenty years ago, when golf was young in the United States," published variously in Golf, Golfing, Outing, The Outlook, and Golf Illustrated. "Mr. Keene knows the spirit and run of the game, its joys and sorrows, its delights and its despairs." (Grantland Rice in the foreword) INSCRIBED AND AUTOGRAPHED ON FFEP: "TO FRANCIS ROGERS, WITH THE CORDIAL REGARDS OF THE AUTHOR, FRANCES B. KEENE. ROME, JUNE, 1930". Furthermore, in the 'Song of the Duffer's Ball', on page 33, the author has made a correction in pencil crossing the word "dud" and substituting "scrub" (to rhyme with club), and on page 34, crossing "duds" and substituting "chumps". I have seen an identical author correction on another signed presentation copy of the UK edition (see Antiquarian Golf Book #203151). This is a beautiful condition copy; sharp corners, cover decoration of a golfer on the links retains its copper highlights, no stains or rubs to cloth. The contents are clean without bookplate, soiling, underlining, notations, marginalia, creases, tears, etc. A neatly trimmed inside panel section of another original dust jacket is affixed to the front pastedown. In Very Scarce Dust Jacket complete, no edge chipping, tears, stains, etc.!!! only slight darkening from age, protected in mylar. Hard to imagine a copy in nicer collector condition. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. N° de ref. del artículo 200757
