Set of two first edition books by Allen Frame as follows: Fever -inscribed clothbound hardcover. Issued without dustwrapper. Unpaginated with 105 color photo plates. Clean and well bound. Essay by art historian Drew Sawyer. Being a book of color photographs Frame made in 1981, documenting the queer social milieu through which he moved in New York City in the moments before the AIDS epidemic would change the community forever. This copy includes a loose print on Kodak photo paper - torn on two sides and comprising roughly a quarter of the original photograph. Presumably produced by Frame himself, being as it is his portrait of friend Nan Goldin at her birthday party, 1981 - the full image of which appears in this photobook. This particular fragment depicts the lower half of Frame (reflected in a mirror) holding his camera; Goldin's fingers enter to the right side, beringed in silver. The same photograph appears in the recent Laura Poitras documentary of Goldin entitled "All the Beauty and the Bloodshed" (2022). Included are portraits of Charles Boone, Darrel Ellis, Frank Franca, Robert Gober, Nan Goldin, Dan Mahoney, Frank Moore, Cady Noland, Kevin Teare, Ken Tisa, Coco Ugaz, Jane Warrick, David Wilson, and Zamba and others. Book in lovely shape, though front board with several small areas of mild spotting/fading. Corners sharp, binding sound. Page interiors and plates fresh and vibrant. Rare and lovely. "Sorry For Your Loss" - Edition of 100. Softcover in stapled stiff wraps. Unpaginated with color photo illustrations. Clean, unmarked, well bound. Quiet, elegiac poetry and photography both by Frame. Book in lovely condition, with little discernible edgewear inside and out. Page interiors crisp. A special example of this hard to find title. N° de ref. del artículo ABE-1681320499998
