First Mail Across the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge. Nov - 12 - 1936. Addressed to: Mr. A. D. McDonald, Director, Golden Gate International Exposition. 585 Bush Street, San Francisco, California. Printed/stamped to front: 'This cover was included in the first dispatch of mail which left San Francisco on a regularly scheduled trip on the occasion of the official opening of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge November 12th, 1936'. Envelope carries a Susan B. Anthony 'Suffrage for Women' 3 cent stamp. Oakland Calif. stamp to rear signed underneath 'Nellie G. Donahue P.M.', Nellie Donohue was the Oakland Postmaster (please see images). The printed card inside the envelope cannot be removed as it has become stuck to the gummed rear of the flap. However it can still be read and reads thus: 'In commemoration of the dedication of the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge this first flight cover is sent with the compliments and good wishes of the San Francisco Post Office and William H.
