6 original ink drawings, various sizes from approx 25 x 13cm to 33 x 19.75cm. They are on art board (not thin & not thick) & one piece of paper/ india paper proof set of all six. Of the 6 original ink drawings 3 are signed C Harrison & one with his initials CH. , condition good, Largest one has edge dirt, and top edge/damage/loss titled in pencil below The faded dancing master, the artist has pasted on the legs part alteration from his original drawing ( signed CH). Another titled the grass (or cress) gatherer, this one signed C Harrison good condition, minor marks, edge dirt, wear? Another titled the B--- m----y woman, this one signed C Harrison , good condition, minor edge dirt, wear ? Another titled Tilda , this one signed C Harrison , good condition, minor edge dirt. ? Another titled Hams? , this one unsigned, good condition, minor edge dirt. the artist has pasted on his hand part alteration from his original drawing ?. Last original ink drawing untitled, unsigned, good condition, minor dirt, top left corner cut off. . The piece of paper/ india paper proof set of all six, in good condition, corner edge folding, corner tip fold, folded in half, with some dirt to fold, wear to edge, size open is approx 24 x 35cm. . Comes with a paper folder, one side has a croosed out pencil inscription ?Drawings by Charles G---- Hamilton from --- J----- 1866? but is crossed out. The one side has a pencil inscription ? 6 Original pen drawings by Charles Hamilton with india paper proof of the set?. Condition paper binding good, some edge wear/nicks, corner edge folding, some minor creasing, dirt. To sum up, looks like a complete original & unique set of ink drawings & a printed proof sheet, for one unknown publication, not dated, but a rough guess Victorian c1890s. From the Net; Charles Harrison was born in the 1860s of a theatrical family and was a child actor before taking a commercial job. He had drawing lessons and then alternated for a while between magazine illustration and the stage. He was married and a humorous artist by the age of twenty. His first published work was a comic he wrote and drew, published by a local printer. He later illustrated a series of children's books, and joined the staff of James Henderson & Sons, where he drew for Funny Folks and Scraps ( a weekly comic paper). In 1893, joined Cassell's Saturday Journal and drawing a fortnightly page. He also contributed to Punch, St. Stephen's Review, the Daily Mail, The Sketch, The Passing Show, and others inc. the American magazine Judge (a weekly satirical magazine ). He also illustrated books, even a comic strip advertisements for Panshine dishwashing soap. He passed away in Hammersmith, London, in 1943. N° de ref. del artículo 003625
