Condición de la sobrecubierta: Dust Jacket Included
Edición: 1st Edition
A collection of essays and articles ( but not speeches) published 1932. Contains 23 essays on diverse subjects ranging from Churchill?s career, to war, to politics, and some musings on the future. 320 pages, frontis portrait of Churchill at his easel. The Keystone Library was used by the publisher to offer titles at reduced cost after sales had slowed at the original price. This is the first printing in the Keystone Library, and is a cancel title page tipped in to first edition sheets. Bound in grey green cloth similar to originals but front cover now blocked in blind rather than gilt. Woods A39ab, Cohen A95.3.a Book is tight and unworn, owner inscription on free endpaper dated 1933. Page edges even, a little off white and some scattered spots. This book was sold new in Australia and has a small bookseller ticket on endpaper, and circular holes punched in the jacket to remove the UK prices. There is a matching faded area on the spine of the behind the circular hole in the DJ. The Ddustwrapper is tanned on spine, 4 holes as mentioned and loss thru wear on the lower part of the fold to the front flap. I originally bought this book at the York PBFA fair in 1993 and then supplied to Langworth who sold it to an American coillector. I have now got it back again from an auction of that collector's estate. (A39ab). N° de ref. de la librería 35387
