Bertal Heeney on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the laying of the corner stone of the church Oct. 16th 1929". Illustrated with many b/w photos and drawings). EPHEMERA inserted : 2 typewritten pages and signed text of the "Meeting in Connection with the Celebration of Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of St.Luke's Church. held in the Rector's study on Tuesday, May 8th, 1928" (Canon Heeney was in the Chair). A few newspaper clippings are glued (half-title page, page 9, rear end page). Also a "University of McGill College Faculty of Arts Certificate Matriculation Session 1894-5 at the name of Bertal Heeney". From half-title page : "A Survey of the Parish from the establishment of the original mission to the present day, compiled on the occasion of the Celebration of the Twenty-fifth Anniversary of the laying of the Foundation Stone of the Church Building, held in Winnipeg from October 6th to October 31st, 1929". Reverend Canon William Bertal Heeney (1873-1955) was born in Danford Lake, Quebec (in the Gatineau Hill, north of Ottawa); he was educated at McGill University and a graduate of Montreal Diocesan Theological College. He worked as an Anglican priest in several localities; he was Rector of St.Luke's Church, Winnipeg, from 1909 to 1942.
