Historical Sketches of Statesmen who Flourished in the Time of George III, Volume II, by Henry, Lord Brougham, F.R.S. (Volume IV of the Works of Henry, Lord Brougham, F.R.S.) Hardback, 1856, published by Richard Griffin and Company, London, 497 pages + iv and 4-page publisher catalogue at rear. Measures around 7 1/2" by 4 7/8" by 1 5/8". Brown cloth binding, embossed pattern to boards and spine, gilt lettering to spine. Some discolouration to spine and around edges of boards. Scuffing and a little marking, signs of shelf-wear, bumped corners, small tears at top and bottom of spine. Binding reasonably firm. Slight tear to front inner hinger, more extensive tearing to rear inner hinge. Page edges deckled, browned and scuffed. Pages are unopened - leaves have never been cut and the pages are still joined together at their upper edges.
