Pages tight; clean; minor page wear; Page edges cut roughly and slightly foxed. no markings. Red hard covers with black borders on front; gild lettering on spine. Minor shelf wear. Red and white dust jacket has extensive rubbing and crinkling with evidence of previous moisture exposure. Some smudges and foxing. Torn edges, spine ends, and corners of dj. Author's story of his life an career from his birth on a South Carolina farm; newspaper job; success as a reporter, advertising man, business executive and banker- before writing a number of important books-satirical novels, histories, biographies.
