Folio. (19 x 12 ), pp. (I-V), VI-XXVIII, 200 plates after engravings by Hemerich, Darly, Foster, Taylor, Miller, Cloues, Muller and others after designs by Chippendale. Facsimile edition of the third, best, & most influential edition, containing an additional 39 plates not found in the previous editions of 1754 and 1755, completed in 1762. Half red cloth & marbled boards, morocco lettering piece. Very good clean copy, boards rubbed, corners bumped, wear to edges & extremities. Sheets clean, un-marked, with marginal tear to one sheet, complete. $1200 Provenance: From the library of antiquarian & collector David Hunt Stockwell signed on the front free endpaper & with his printed bookplate on the paste down endpaper.
