VG in Fair DJ. First in a series of book for young children designed to unleash their imaginations to what can be seen in one really looks at things to try to counteract the effects of TV. Before they are restricted by their adult environment, children are active inventors of the extraordinary. His story & illustrations light a match to a child's fantasies instead of snuffing them out with "realism". Archibald adapted Henry James' The Turn of the Screw on both stage & screen as The Innocents and also holds a degree as a botanist. A small child named Baldwin decides to draw with ink but a dragonfly startles him and he knocks against his ink bottle and an enormous blot forms on his book. He thinks the book is spoiled but then he realizes he sees things in the blot. Owner name ft endpaper, DJ has pieces missing and is poorly repaired with tape. Illustrated by William Archibald.
