4to. mayor; XXXII - 422 pp., 2 hs., 24 pp., 2 hs. -.

Printed on one side of a 29 x 22.5 cm leaf of wove paper. Heavily worn, with closed tears, creasing and a couple of closed holes. (No loss of text, and would respond well to archival repair.) 21 lines of heavily-leaded text, attractively laid out in three point sizes. Begins: 'The Regius Professor of Hebrew proposes to resume his Course of Lectures in the Minor Prophets on Wednesday the 10th instant, at Two o'Clock.' A paragraph describes the different aims of the 'Three Elementary Hebrew Classes', and the document concludes: 'Those who wish to attend the Elementary Lectures are requested to call on the Rev. W. Kay, Lincoln College, on Tuesday the 9th instant, between the hours of Two and Four.' From the papers of the Harington baronets of Ridlington. A manuscript note on the reverse reveals the purpose for which the item was employed: 'Miss Harington's hair | Novr 2nd 1848'. No other copy traced.

See Pusey's entry in the Oxford DNB, along with those of the Coleridge brothers and (perhaps tangentially) Robin Schofield, 'Sara Coleridge and the Oxford Movement' (2020). 2pp, 12mo. Twenty-seven lines, in a close hand, rather difficult to decipher. In good condition, lightly aged. Folded twice for postage. Addressed to 'My dear Coleridge' and signed 'E B Pusey'. What follows is a tentative transcription. 'On hearing from your brother of the condition of dearest J. Rd & Mrs. Ks. nurse, I wrote to the [Devonport?] mother, who empowers me to offer to your brother that she would [?] from into the Hospital at Ascot for life if she should be a happy and [?] inmate. She said that she should grudge to any one else the care of the nurse of one who had been so kind to her, and whom she loved so much. Your brother was pleased with the offer, but, on enquiry, found that she was provided for.' What follows is somewhat unclear. 'It seems great waste to raise £100 when it might be done out of love alone, most heartily[.] The Div. Mother was very sorry that she only heard of Anne F's condition, when arrangements were already completed. She felt it as a loss, not to have the care of her[.]' After a difficult passage with another reference to 'Devonport', the letter concludes: 'I have no happy memories about Dr. [Leet?]. I that [sic] he did a good deal of harm, by never believing us'.

Scrap of paper, 9 x 9cm, remnants of laying down on reverse, clear text, as follows: "I should be glad to have the Statuta Aularia if you have them to hand [short line though this paragraph] | [Line crossed out - indecipherable] | I shd be glad to know of any new German works or ['Jewish' prob.]. or any improved editions of the old ones." Note: Statuta Aularia: "statutes made by the University for the government of the Halls" [presumably as opposed to 'Colleges']. "The Oxford University Act 1854 and the university statute De aulis privatis (On private Halls) of 1855, allowed any Master of Arts aged at least 28 years to open a private hall after obtaining a licence to do so.[3] The longest lived of the thirteen private halls was Charsley's Hall (18621891)" [Wikipedia]. One page, 16mo, in narrow "frame" of stiffer paper, good condition. "My dear Sir | I am sorry but I did not know it was wanted so soon and have not written to Leipzig. I will write. [.] [P.S.] I suppose the Publisher who sell [sic] the Bodleian book will tell them I will wroite to them". Note: I have traced no publication of Tauchnitz's atributable to Pusey. And the only book in which he was involved associated with the Bodleian that I've traced is "Treasures of Oxford : containing poetical compositions by the ancient Jewish authors in Spain : and compiled from manuscripts in the Bodleian Library, Oxford / Part I" (published in 1851 by Groombridge).
