Internally very good, with moderate foxing. xxi, [1], 505, [2] pp. Errata leaf bound in at the back. Inside the front cover is a large bookplate from the original bookseller, E. Parker's Medical Bookstore, 178 Market St., Philadelphia. This bookplate, showing a counter with books, pens and a globe on it, was engraved by. J. Yeager. The original owner of the book, Andrew Wills, has signed the bookplate with the date November 1st, 1823. Wills signed the facing blank endpaper as well. He is not listed in an 1823 directory of Philadelphia. First edition of an extensive, unillustrated, handbook of anatomy. American Imprints 12872.

Most title pages bear ink ownership inscription of "Lewis H. Steiner". Lewis Henry Steiner (1827 - 1892) was a US physician and librarian.
