Patrick O'Brien is Governor of the Programme in Global History at the Institute of Historical Research, London University, and Centennial Professor of Economic History at the London School of Economics. He has edited and contributed to a wide range of historical journals and encyclopedias. Contributing authors: Guy de la Bedoyere, Alan Brown, Gerard Cheshire, Ingrid Cranfield, Judith Hodge, Michael Kerrigan and Jon Sutherland.
