Four men set sail in a 40-foot trimaran from New Zealand heading for Tonga. But on day three disaster strikes. After endless battering by fierce storms, "Rose-Noelle" capsizes and she and her crew drift for 119 days - the longest anyone has survived in an upturned boat. The men are completely at each other's mercy, living by fear, insecurity, egotism, selfishness and treachery. But gradually a will to live draws them together, and like it or not close co-operation is their only real chance. By the time "Rose-Noelle" runs aground on Barrier Island, they have observed the resources and strengths that they never knew they possessed. It is the only reason they are alive to tell this incredible story.
