167 pages. Scarce edition. This is No. 245 of only 1500 printed. With the several original full-page steel engravings from the designs of Richard Westall, each with its own tissue guard. Plate impressions on the page. The book is three-quarter bound in sturdy white cloth with gilt borders, over multi-colored, textured cloth-covered boards with flowered designs, and with gilt lettering on the spine. The top exterior page edges are also gilt, while the other page edges are deckled (untrimmed). The book has no major flaws and is structurally extremely sound, square and straight, exceedingly firm and tight in its binding, with no pages loose, missing, torn or folded. The hinges are still very sound, the text-block is still held firmly in place and is well-attached to the backstrip. The corners have not been bumped. While the cloth exterior is slightly hand-soiled, it is virtually unworn, just a touch of wear at the top of the spine. The spine is somewhat darkened from either age, but the gilt lettering is still present, bright and very legible. The pages are clean, clear, and unsmudged, and all text is still sharp, bright and very legible. There is some scattered foxing to the engraved plates themselves, a not uncommon flaw with this paper and this book. There is no writing, underlining, highlighting or markings of any kind in the book. A very solid copy of a delightful, attractive little book. N° de ref. de la librería 3353
