Pale cream Boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. The covers have a couple of small marks, tiny old thin lines of sellotape glue only, (these may be able to be removed? ) Plus a few small brown spots to the top edge of the book only. In the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket. Dustjacket is price-clipped. The dustjacket spine is VERY slightly faded to the base colour only, which is a lighter cream, but all the titling is clear and bright. The d/j has a few closed tears all of which are now neatly repaired to the reverse of the d/j with clear archive tape and the book/d/j looks FINE, and is now protected in a clear bookfilm. A small 'Foyles' bookshop sticker on the underside of the front flap. NO Inscriptions or Marks. 308 pp. Illustrated in b/w Maps in b/w; List of Napoleon's Marshals; Chronological Table; Bibliography ; Index. Overall, apart from the very minor 'faults'as noted above, this is an Excellent Very Clean, Tight and Bright Near 'FINE' copy and much better than it may sound - crisp and clean. " Napoleon is one of the most renowned and reviled figures in history. Though he was unquestionably among the greatest military commanders who ever lived, his volatile temperament and fierce ambition have made his career an object of world wide scrutiny. Keeping the reader close to the drama of the battlefield, General Sir James Marshall-Cornwall gives a balanced account of Napoleon's life." A LOVELY COPY. ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall.
