In 2008 Denise was diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma, the most common type of gynaecological cancer. After having a complete hysterectomy the odds were in her favour with a 95% cure rate. However four months later Denise's cancer returned. The odds were now stacked against her as her recurrence was clear cell, a rare and aggressive form of endometrial cancer with a poor prognosis. By telling her story Denise wants to raise awareness of gynaecological cancers and outline the steps she took to give herself the best chance of beating the odds as she underwent major surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Denise is a very special person. It is an honour to have been involved in her care.
